📝 Walkthrough

The changes add GLM-5 Next context-parallel and MoE execution, KPool tail-cache handling, DeepSeek-V4 native SAS support, and expanded ACL decode-graph metadata. They also update liburing dependency checks, Mooncake runtime staging, and wheel metadata finalization.

Changes: GLM-5 Next and KPool

Layer / File(s) Summary
Model registration and CP admission
xllm/core/framework/config/*, xllm/core/framework/model_context/*, xllm/models/model_registry.cpp, xllm/python/registry.py, xllm/python/model_executor/executor.py, xllm/models/llm/py_causal_lm.*, tests/core/framework/parallel_state/*, tests/python/test_registry.py, tests/python/test_model_executor.py
Registers GLM-5 Next aliases and updates Python model selection, context-parallel admission, and model-context propagation.
Context-parallel and MoE execution
xllm/python/models/glm5_next.py, xllm/core/runtime/mtp_worker_impl.cpp, tests/python/test_glm5_next_cp.py, tests/python/test_glm5_next_moe.py, tests/core/kernels/npu/glm5_next_moe_*, tests/core/framework/speculative/*
Adds GLM-5 Next context-parallel row handling and EP/DP/MoE-TP execution. NPU draft preparation uses uniform two-row layouts for specified target models.
KPool cache layout and binding
xllm/core/kv_cache/*, xllm/python/attention/backend.py, xllm/python/attention/mla_index_context.py, xllm/python/attention/npu_paged_attention.py, tests/core/kv_cache/*
Adds KPool tail-cache layout selection, allocation and reset behavior, Python cache conversion, typed index contexts, and cache-binding checks.
KPool updates and causal selection
xllm/python/models/glm5_next.py, xllm/python/models/glm5_next_kpool.py, xllm/python/kernels_npu/triton/kpool_compress.py, tests/python/test_glm5_next_kpool.py, tests/python/test_python_pd.py
Adds compressed-cache and request-tail updates. Index selection handles multi-token queries and can append causally visible tail indices.

DeepSeek-V4 native SAS

Layer / File(s) Summary
Native SAS selection and SWA mapping
xllm/core/layers/npu_torch/deepseek_sparse_attention.*, xllm/models/llm/deepseek_v4.h, tests/core/layers/npu_torch/deepseek_v4_indexer_tests.cpp
Selects native SAS for eligible decode paths and maps SWA indices through retained ring-buffer blocks.
Sparse metadata and attention execution
xllm/python/attention/csa_attention.py, xllm/python/attention/dsa_metadata.py, tests/python/test_csa_attention.py
Carries explicit SWA indices and effective window bounds through sparse metadata, attention execution, graph replay, and context-parallel localization.

Decode graph and paged metadata

Layer / File(s) Summary
Engine-owned decode warmup configuration
xllm/core/distributed_runtime/*, xllm/core/runtime/decode_graph_bucket.*, xllm/core/runtime/acl_graph_bucket_policy.h, xllm/core/scheduler/profile/*, tests/core/runtime/mlu_graph_executor_test.cpp, tests/core/scheduler/profile/profile_graph_warmup_test.cpp
Engines expose decode warmup configuration. Profile planning uses that configuration and ACL graph bucket helpers.
Row-aligned paged-KV metadata
xllm/core/framework/speculative/spec_input_builder.*, xllm/python/attention/paged_kv_metadata.py, tests/core/framework/speculative/spec_input_builder_test.cpp
Builds paged-KV row pointers, page indices, and last-page lengths from KV sequence lengths.

Decode graph admission under data parallelism can raise instead of falling back to eager execution. Expanded verification can also use wrong query offsets. Fix both, and confirm the open GLM-5 Next concerns, before merging.

- Around line 200-208: Update the KPool and expanded-verify width checks in
can_execute to use the same effective padded batch size as capture when dp_size
== 1, including the max_batch cap; reject admission when that padded size is not
divisible by the query width so execution falls back to eager rather than
failing during warmup or execute.
- Around line 378-408: Before shape-only synthesis in the decode metadata flow,

no linear cache. Keep producer-supplied expanded metadata handling ahead of this
guard, and allow synthesis for hybrid models with a recurrent cache.

🟠 Major · Use CP-aware MoE axes for validation and BF16 reduction. · glm5_next.py:352-372

xllm/python/models/glm5_next.py:352-372
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Use CP-aware MoE axes for validation and BF16 reduction.

With ep_size == 1, the MoE TP group spans cp_size * tp_size ranks. Its rank is cp_rank * tp_size + tp_rank. The current validation compares both values with the attention TP axes and rejects context-parallel launches.

The BF16 path also reduces with the default "tp" group. Under CP, this omits contributions from the other CP ranks. When tp_size == 1, it skips the reduction entirely.

Review comment at @xllm/python/models/glm5_next.py around lines 352 - 372:
Update _validate_moe_parallelism to validate CP size/rank and use CP-aware MoE
TP size and rank when EP and DP are 1; include cp_size in the parallelism
product otherwise. Update the BF16 reduction to use moe_tp_size and
distributed.moe_tp_all_reduce so it includes CP ranks even when tp_size is 1.

With head_dim > 128, the kernel grid is (num_requests, cdiv(head_dim, 128)). More than one program then handles the same request. Every program reads old_marker from gate element 0 of the tail row. The dim-block-0 program can overwrite that element during its tail-write loop while another program for the same request is still reading pools. The result is wrong pool validity and wrong compressed keys. No error is raised.

Neither _compact_kpool_model_compatible nor _is_compact_kpool_cache_compatible checks the head dimension. A config with index_head_dim > 128 therefore takes the fast path. Add the check here so that such configs use the Torch updater.

🟠 Major · Raise metadata-resolution failures under DP. · decode_acl_graph.py:138-142

xllm/python/model_executor/runners/decode_acl_graph.py:138-142
🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Raise metadata-resolution failures under DP.

The generic MTP path keeps per-sequence host KV lengths while device KV metadata uses per-token rows. _expanded_verify_view therefore raises on the host-length count check. This return bypasses the DP layout error path, so one rank can fall back to eager execution while an empty rank remains eligible for graph replay. Raise the failure when dp_size > 1, while preserving the non-DP fallback.

🟠 Major · Use query lengths when q_cu_seq_lens is absent. · decode_acl_graph.py:1305-1312

xllm/python/model_executor/runners/decode_acl_graph.py:1305-1312
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Use query lengths when q_cu_seq_lens is absent.

_is_untyped_spec_verify allows missing q_cu_seq_lens, and _expanded_verify_view can synthesize the expanded path for that metadata. The current fallback computes [0, cumsum(kv_seq_lens)], while _host_cumulative_query_lengths provides query offsets. KV lengths include context and can produce different boundaries for expanded verification.

Use the normalized host query offsets for the device buffer when device query offsets are absent:
