Summary

An eve@0.50.0 session can outlive a deployment and receive worker-start requests from a newer runtime. Existing cross-version E2Es exercise ordinary messages, while worker-completion E2Es use one version. This test starts an old session, upgrades the deployment, launches a deterministic background worker, and requires its result in the parent's next reply without another user message.

Deployment setup is shared with the existing cross-version test. Redeploy evals run serially because they mutate the same fixture and alias. This adds regression coverage only; it does not fix the runtime compatibility bug.

Validation

Framework build, fixture typecheck, lint, formatting, dependency checks, and eval discovery passed.
The fixture also builds against published eve@0.30.8 and eve@0.50.0.
All 720 integration tests passed.
pnpm test stops on two existing macOS path assertions in src/cli/telemetry/preference.test.ts; those tests and their implementation are unchanged from main.
Deployed E2E validation is pending CI. The new regression is expected to fail until the compatibility bug is fixed.
