8370731: Tests in vmTestbase/nsk/monitoring/GarbageCollectorMXBean/CollectionCounters/ failed: OutOfMemoryError

This backport fixes CollectionCounters tests. Failures of these have been seen on adoptium infra on (jdk25).

This PR includes total 3 backports. (original fix + 2 follow-up fixes)
All backports were clean. Only affects tests.

Testing:
I have done local run of tests in vmTestbase/nsk/monitoring/GarbageCollectorMXBean/CollectionCounters/ - all PASSED
