WHY

Define deterministic error vocabulary and matching rules without mixing recovery runtime or parser integration. This gives reviewers a small, self-contained contract to verify before runtime behavior layers on top.

Scope

  • Error interception types (types.ts)
  • Error classification patterns (errorPatterns.ts)
  • Error classifier logic (ErrorClassifier.ts)
  • Trimmed barrel export (index.ts) — only B01 subset
  • Focused classifier tests (ErrorClassifier.spec.ts)

Dependencies

None (Wave 1, from upstream/main at d27153a25).

Non-goals

  • Error transformation/interception runtime (B02)
  • Assistant parser/presentation integration (B03)
  • No .gitignore, reports, helpers, or operational artifacts

Verification

  • cd src; npx vitest run core/tools/error-interception/__tests__/ErrorClassifier.spec.ts — 122/122 passed
  • npx tsc --noEmit — 0 new type errors

Shared-file note

index.ts will be expanded in B02 (add MessageTransformer, StructuralValidator, TaskErrorState, ToolErrorInterceptor exports) and B03 (add parser/presentation exports).

Exclusion attestation

No reports, helpers, stale reversions, unrelated changesets, or operational noise.
