Description

Describe the bug
The KasmVNC version number in the client-side Control Panel's Settings menu still displays as 1.3.0.

System Description
Debian GNU/Linux 13.6 (trixie)
Linux debian 6.17.2-1-pve #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC PMX 6.17.2-1 (2025-10-21T11:55Z) x86_64 GNU/Linux

KasmVNC Details
kasmvncserver_trixie_1.5.0_amd64.deb

Provide the output of this command.

Xvnc KasmVNC 1.5.0.17265facc40ab50db5740cdf0d12c61173edafc9 - built Jun 11 2026 12:27:41

See http://kasmweb.com for information on KasmVNC.
Underlying X server release 12101007

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior (for non-installation issues):

  1. When connected to a KasmVNC server in a web browser, open the KasmVNC Control Panel menu.
  2. Click on 'Settings'.
  3. At the bottom of the 'Settings' menu, the version number displays as: "Version: 1.3.0" followed by a link to the documentation.

Expected behavior
The version number should display as "Version: 1.5.0". It was also displaying incorrectly in version 1.4.0.

Browser
This incorrect version number is displaying in the browser client - the version number is correct when using Xvnc -version

  • Device: AMD64 desktop
  • OS: Debian 13 (trixie)
  • Browser: Firefox
  • Version: 153.0.3

Additional context
This does not affect functionality and has been the same since version 1.3.0. It is just confusing that it still showed 1.3.0 when running 1.4.0 and now 1.5.0.
