Beta Features

gaetgu edited this page Jun 20, 2020 · 1 revision

This wiki page will cover some of the more beta features that are not quite stable enough to make it into the normal documentation. These may be removed or the syntax changed in future versions. Examples of old syntax that has been deleted or changed:

  1. all lines had their syntax changed to allow for the creation of multiple lines in one statement.
  2. a picture generator was removed
  3. a track generator was removed
  4. the power up syntax was changed

CURVES

This feature is still in-progress, to be released in a later, more stable version, with the final syntax. So far, this is the syntax.

Insert a curve:

# Insert a solid curve

my_track.insCurve('p', 200, 3, (0, 0), (0, 100), (100, 100))

This syntax is a little new, so let's go over it. The first argument is, as always, the type of line. The second one is new. This one is the number of lines making up the curve. FRHD doesn't actually have the ability to use true curves, so curves are made up of many little lines. The next number is the minimum size of the lines used to make up the curve. It is best to not let this go below three, as sometimes the game can make them disappear since they are too tiny. For the line coordinates, you have to use the standard (math) form either on its own, as shown above, or in square brackets.
