What

Update the "Advanced search mode" section of Search data sources, which still describes a removed UI toggle.

Why

The docs say advanced search "can be enabled in the agent builder under Search > Advanced settings". This is outdated:

Verified against production data: since March 2026, ~98% of newly created search configurations carry advanced_search: true; the remaining ~2% are legacy configurations copied forward on agent edits, which is why the added note about pre-February 2026 agents (remove and re-add the knowledge) is included.

Origin: customer support thread where a user could not find the documented "Search > Advanced settings" setting.

Changes

docs/user-documentation/agents/knowledge/search-data-sources.mdx:

  • Replace the "enable it under Search > Advanced settings" sentence: advanced search is included by default with Content search, no setting to enable.
  • Replace the closing "Enable Advanced search mode when..." sentence accordingly.
  • Add a <Note> for agents configured before February 2026 (may lack filesystem access; remove and re-add the knowledge to enable it).
  • Rename heading "When should I use the Search option?" to "When should I use the Content search option?" to match the current builder label.
