Domen Gabrovšek

🚀 Co-founder & CTO @ Pentla
💻 Senior Software Engineer @ Didomi
📍 Ljubljana, Slovenia 🇸🇮 · 🌐 Remote

Senior software engineer with over a decade of experience designing, building and operating backend and cloud systems in production. I work across the full lifecycle of a system, from the first architecture decisions to running it reliably at scale.

As co-founder and CTO of Pentla, I lead the technical direction and am building the platform end to end: architecture, backend, frontend, infrastructure and the engineering practices the team works by.

As a senior software engineer at Didomi, I work on server-side tagging and consent infrastructure across GCP and AWS. I design and deliver changes that span multiple services and teams, and take them from proposal to production.

Across both roles, I use AI to improve technical and product processes: how work is specified, built, reviewed and shipped. The goal is to help teams ship more, faster, with higher quality and reliable results.

I enjoy sharing what I know and mentoring other engineers, through code review, pairing, talks and open-source tooling.

Core strengths

  • Architecture and system design: multi-tenant SaaS platforms and distributed systems that span services, teams and clouds
  • Backend engineering: high-throughput services, relational data modelling, API design
  • Cloud infrastructure: GCP, AWS and Cloudflare, fully managed as code
  • Technical leadership: setting technical direction, engineering standards and delivery practices from zero to production
  • Production ownership: reliability, observability, incident response and security
  • AI-enabled delivery: tooling and workflows that make coding agents dependable and help teams ship faster, at higher quality and with fewer surprises in production

Certifications

AWS and GCP certified (Credly).

Outside work

You'll usually find me on my road bike, hiking in the mountains, or travelling somewhere new. I also love a good game of chess.
