@jfly and @rokicki: I've spent a lot of time thinking about what to do about LLM contributions, and I think the Rust policy is by far the safest for now.

In particular:

• It's always possible to be more permissive later.
• This way, LLM contributions are not entirely banned — but they can only be considered or accepted at the discretion of a maintainer.

(I consider myself and @rokicki to be current maintainers, with @jfly also having maintainer powers for continuity purposes.)

I'm interested in whether you'd be on board with this, both for cubing.js in particular, and as a precedent for other org projects.

I'm just fine with this. I'd argue for a slightly more permissive license but this is definitely a step in the right direction. My productivity is massively improved with LLMs and given the amount of time we've spent vs. the progress obtained I think adopting this vs. the previous policy is well warranted. If I decide to argue for more permissiveness I'll give explicit details and argument later. Thanks, Lucas, for making this suggestion.
