Missing X3D source and headers

Does anybody have the original X3D source code?

I don't see it in the master or X3D branches. I checked my old snapshot of Coin 3.0 and can't find it there either.

Perhaps it is generated?

Hmmm, I looked into the old sources saved from Bitbucket but even in the first commit to the X3D branch the X3D source files were not included. Only changes to SoDB.h and SoDB.cpp were recorded. Seems like we need to get into contact with Roy Walmsley. @walroy Do you have the full sources of the X3D branch still available?

I've started recreating these in my X3D branch that will eventually be merged back into this X3D branch. I would still like to see the original source code in case it is more mature than my effort.

In the git@github.com:magic-lantern-studio/coin.git repo, X3D branch, I am using the CMake macro define HAVE_X3D (similar to HAVE_VRML97 define).

I created a src/x3d directory for the new X3D nodes using HAVE_X3D around the code. These files are compiling fine without a problem.

However, when I use HAVE_X3D in another directory around X3D specific code, it appears the compiler/build is not recognizing this usage. For example, in src/misc/SoGenerate.cpp, it appears that the code is not being compiled, leaving unresolved functions that I added in this file (CoinTests link complains).

Why would HAVE_X3D not be available in src/misc, but alright in src/x3d?

Did you included config.h?

config.h includes setup.h which contains the defines HAVE_VRML97 and your HAVE_X3D.
And use a #ifdef HAVE_X3D or #ifndef HAVE_X3D but not #if HAVE_X3Das these preprocessor symbols have not been assigned a value.

I just compiled the branch X3D and inserted a #pragma message("resolved HAVE_X3D") into the section guarded by #ifdef HAVE_X3D it works but gives later errors when linking.

Thanks for the help. I've resolved the build issue by making sure the config.h reference was included before using HAVE_X3D.

Since I didn't have reference to the original source, I'm writing the code based on Coin VRML97 implementation and X3D specification. I'm targeting end of May or June to have something to merge back. It won't be complete or fully tested, but it will be a base for others to to use or contribute against.
