New RSS Parser

Would there be interest in me implementing a new RSS parser? magpie is pretty dated.

I'm open to that. I experimented 2 or 3 years ago with SimplePie; it apparently ran memory links that killed the server it was on. What were you thinking of? Testing is one thing, running with as many feeds as go through this site is another (and I am way out of my depth of understanding)

11.5 years later...

I've just created a fork that uses a modified version of rss-php from https://github.com/dg/rss-php instead of Magpie. It works for the set of feeds I use, and for the ones mentioned in later issues.

Wow, wow, and wow. I had given up hope. Ummm, where is this fork? How about pushing the changes back here? I'd love to try. Thanks.

Was waiting to see if there were any signs of life before trying to work out how to push changes back.

I built the original in 2004 and kept it alive, but I did not have the chops to fix or replace the MagpieRSS parser.
