## Create or Import A New Wallet

### Creating a new account
Talisman offers an intuitive interface for managing assets across multiple ecosystems, making it an excellent choice for users interacting with the Autonomys Network.

1. Click the `Add account` button and you will see a multi-tab screen.

1. Download and install the browser extension from the official [Talisman Website](https://talisman.xyz/).

2. Next click on `New Polkadot account` and you will be prompted to choose an account name.

3. After choosing a name and clicking `Create`, you will see some information about your recovery phrase.

4. The wallet dashboard will open, showing your newly generated account. To copy your address, click **"Receive"**, select your account, and search for or click on **Autonomys Network**. Your address string should begin with the native network identifier `su`.

Your recovery phrase (also known as a seed phrase) is the master key to your cryptocurrency wallet. Anyone with access to this phrase can take complete control of your funds. Never share it with anyone, never store it in unsecured digital platforms or emails, and always ensure you have a safe offline backup. Treat it like your most sensitive personal or financial information. *If it’s exposed or lost, you could permanently lose access to your cryptocurrency*.

5. You can either Verify the recovery phrase or Skip Verification and it will take you to the dashboard.
1. Open the Talisman extension and click the **Settings** gear icon or select your account profile avatar in the upper navigation bar.

2. Navigate to **"Backup Recovery Phrase"** or **"Export Account"**. Enter your local master password to unlock your credentials.

6. To get a public wallet address, you need to click `Receive`.

If you are migrating from another wallet application (such as Polkadot.js), follow these steps to import your account.

1. Open the Talisman interface and open the account options menu by clicking your avatar or the **"Add account"** button in the sidebar.

3. Select **"Polkadot / Substrate"** as your target ecosystem network type.

2. Navigate to the `Import` tab.
4. Carefully type or paste your 12-word mnemonic seed phrase into the input field. Give the account a unique local nickname, set up your password authorization, and click **"Import"** to restore your wallet.

3. Next, click `Import via Recovery Phrase` and select Polkadot.

4. Once you click the `Import` button, the screen will expand for you to choose a name for the account and enter your seed phrase.

5. To finish the import, client the `Import` button again.

## How do I backup my wallet?

1. You can backup/export your wallet. Click on the three dots in the top right to show the menu.

2. Next choose `Export as JSON` from the menu.

3. You will need to enter the password for your account and click `Submit`

4. Next you need to create a different password for the JSON.

### My Autonomys address is missing or shows an incorrect prefix
Talisman handles address prefixes automatically based on the network context. Ensure you are looking at your Substrate/Polkadot identity. If the address doesn't match the native format starting with `su`, ensure you have toggled on the **Autonomys Network** visibility under your active network filtering settings inside the primary dashboard interface.
