This project explores data from the US bike share systems in Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C. using Python. It was completed as part of the Data Science learning path to demonstrate data analysis skills using pandas, NumPy, and basic Python programming.
The goal is to analyze usage patterns of bike-sharing services in three major cities and extract insights such as:
- Most common travel times
- Most popular stations
- Average trip duration
- User demographics and types
This project involves loading CSV data, applying filters (by city, month, and day), and calculating statistical summaries.
The data used in this project was provided by Udacity. It contains real-time and historical trip data for:
- Chicago
- New York City
- Washington
Each CSV file includes fields like:
- Start Time, End Time
- Trip Duration
- Start and End Station
- User Type, Gender, Birth Year
- Interactive script to choose city, month, and day
- Calculates:
- Most frequent times of travel
- Most popular stations and trips
- Total and average trip duration
- User statistics (types, gender, birth year)
- Clean and readable modular code
- Robust input validation
- Python 3.13
- pandas
- NumPy
- datetime
- OS
