Summary

L4#4 (FIX-SOON): two public GitHub releases of the same product under different licences, with no relicensing note.

Verified live:

  • v1.4.2 published 2026-05-29: LICENSE = “MIT License”; release body contains “MIT licensed.”
  • v1.7.0 published 2026-06-13: LICENSE = Apache License 2.0.
  • npm @puenteworks/checkyourself@1.7.0 declares Apache-2.0.

Adds a dated note in README, CHANGELOG, and llms.txt. Copies obtained under MIT remain under MIT.

Binding

  • Wording only. LICENSE is not in this diff. No terms change.
  • Docs-class PR.

Test plan

  • Confirm git diff origin/main -- LICENSE is empty
  • README License section names v1.4.2 MIT and v1.7.0+ Apache-2.0
  • After merge: curl -sS https://raw.githubusercontent.com/KyaniteLabs/checkyourself/main/README.md | grep -A4 '^## License'

GitHub release v1.4.2 (2026-05-29) shipped MIT; v1.7.0 (2026-06-13)
and later are Apache-2.0. Both remain public. Wording only; LICENSE
file unchanged. Copies obtained under MIT remain under MIT.
