Template

Reelsaw: self-hosted, open-source (AGPL-3.0) AI video clipper. Paste a YouTube link or upload a video; it transcribes, picks the most clippable moments with a language model, reframes the speaker into vertical 9:16 with face tracking, cuts fillers and burns in word-highlight captions. Any model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Deepgram, or local Ollama and Whisper), plus an MCP server so agents can drive it.

  • blueprints/reelsaw/docker-compose.yml: the app (ghcr.io/osbytes/reelsaw:0.18.2, multi-arch, expose: 3000, healthcheck on /api/health, 330 s stop grace so a deploy waits for running renders) and postgres:17-alpine, both on named volumes.
  • blueprints/reelsaw/template.toml: one domain on the reelsaw service; generated BETTER_AUTH_SECRET and DB_PASSWORD; APP_URL from the domain; SIGNUP_MODE=open (first account becomes admin); model settings and provider keys as editable env.
  • blueprints/reelsaw/meta.json, reelsaw.png (512×512).

node build-scripts/generate-meta.js --check passes.

One thing to know before deploying

Reelsaw refuses to boot without a reachable model: the template defaults to OpenAI for both the language and transcription models, so OPENAI_API_KEY must be filled in before the first deploy (or AI_MODEL / TRANSCRIPTION_MODEL pointed at another provider and its key set). The comment in template.toml says so. This mirrors the upstream Compose install.

Maintainer of the upstream project.
