I think Scratch 3.0 should have a Linux version.
Sorry if this is too short, this is my first issue and I can't think of anything else to say now.
(yes, I know there is TurboWarp, but I want one for people who are already familiar and prefer the original)

I just tested this repo running from source and it seems to run fine on Linux (debian trixie)

Try this unofficial build from original Scratch 3 source code without any changes: https://github.com/markakis-sch/scratch-desktop/releases/tag/v3.29.1.
It works just fine in Ubuntu 22.04+

And yes, Scratch 3.0 should have an OFFICIAL Linux version!

It works on GNU/Linux, i built it just today.
You can build the AppImage: npm install && npm run dist, done.

The real issue is packaging, i am the maintainer of scratch3-bin and it relies on a stale build as we dont have builds, it will be in limbo until the windows build gets updated (weirdly enough).

Most if not all binary builds on the AUR relied on upstream windows .exe builds, which are ancient and inefficient as it has to unpack the .exe and extract the app JS code.

The stale version is on 'Direct Link', this repo has CI for Windows builds, so it should be as simple as deploying them to the
https://scratch.mit.edu/download page at https://downloads.scratch.mit.edu/desktop/Scratch Setup.exe and scratch3-bin

Its a strange setup, but then again, i only started making commits in scratch3-bin today, so it's net to me too.
At least i can tell you scratch3-bin will build now.

Personally, my package is the wrong namespace for an AppImage build (its a -bin),

Has is ideal by name but is a binary build.
Once we add the pacman builds through ElectronBuilder I doubt we will even need custom PKGBUILDs, Electron Builder generates it for you, its setup to do that for MacOS, Windows, and Linux: AppImage.

This is NodeJS so its not hard, i am tempted to make a PR, however i have to balance my other responsibilities.
All i can say is if the Windows Exe is updated, i will update the hash for scratch-3-bin, it should just work, this requires Scratch team to copy the auto-0built artefacts to their site though.
