Summary

  • Adds a "Debugging on the simulator" section to CLAUDE.md covering os.Logger usage (not print, since simctl spawn log stream only captures the unified log), the terminate→install→launch→capture flow, screenshots via simctl io, and caveats about Xcode-vs-simctl launch differences.
  • Adds a "Red herring" note on the few-seconds-of-blank-screen behavior seen on fresh builds: diagnostic signature is zero app-side logs during the blank period (Swift runtime hasn't reached @main), so SwiftUI/scene/view-model theories are dead ends. Likely iOS first-launch-of-new-binary overhead; real users tapping from Springboard won't hit it.

Test plan

  • Confirm CLAUDE.md renders reasonably on GitHub
  • Next time a similar blank-screen report comes in, confirm the "no logs during blank period" signature is the quick way to rule out app bugs

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Adds a "Debugging on the simulator" section to CLAUDE.md covering:
- Using `os.Logger` with a distinctive subsystem rather than `print`, so
`xcrun simctl spawn booted log stream` can capture output.
- The terminate → install → launch → cat-log flow for reproducing a
single launch from the command line, plus screenshots via `simctl io`.
- Caveats about Xcode build+run vs simctl (debugger attachment differs,
can hide or surface bugs asymmetrically) and scene-phase transitions
starting in `background` on a fresh launch, not `active`.

Also adds a "Red herring" note documenting the few-seconds-of-blank-screen
behavior seen on fresh builds: diagnostic signature is that no app logs
appear during the blank period (i.e. the Swift runtime hasn't reached
`@main` yet), so SwiftUI/scene theories are dead ends. Likely iOS
first-launch-of-new-binary overhead; real users tapping the icon on
Springboard won't trigger it.
