Noticed a simple word/command such as "exit" or "/exit" will trigger the AI to process it, instead, I suggest to effectively close the running app, and it could be useful to do so with other words/commands imo

This is an interesting idea. There's /quit, but I wonder is perhaps we could give the LLM the ability to call / commands itself. Add sort of a slash_command tool with a list of possible /commands. Hmmm... this could open the door to asking Code to configure itself... but yes at a minimum it would allow it to call mistyped /commands. Let's give this a go!

Claude Code does this I believe, and it's very nice. For one, I suggest aliasing the /exit command to /quit. The exit and quit would be a bit harder, but maybe just a simple text preprocessor. I really do like exit and quit working in Claude Code, I know its a little thing but my brain is wired to typing exit in a terminal to quit.

@ebcodev @cbusillo Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion—totally agree that “exit” muscle memory is real, and this makes quitting feel natural.

This preview adds two small but handy improvements:

• Typing /exit now works the same as /quit.
• Typing plain exit or quit (no slash, any case) gracefully closes the app instead of sending it to the model.

You can try it right now:

Once it launches, type exit, quit, or /exit in the terminal to close. Regular messages still behave the same.
