Modifying existing VSVDB block for player led dolby vision TVs?

So its a well known issue on Sony's first generation of DV supporting TVs that they only supported DV in player led mode and that the image is dim relative to what one gets if dolby vision is disabled and its in just plane HDR10 mode (i.e. with a bluray that can do both).

I'm wondering, out loud, if playing with the VSVDB block (as perhaps CPM build could allow us), would enable us to experiment with different settings to try and improve the situation? I'm wondering how one could go about doing that if so.
