• +ipc: run and measure the xpmem pool (untested, but auto selects it)

charmplusplus/reconverse#263 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Oct 1, 2026

• Factor the +ipc shared-memory pool into a runtime-independent module (posix-shm/xpmem segments + offset lists), with reconverse as a thin wrapper; no per-message cost allowed

• Spanning-tree broadcast fan-out to peers runs in rank 0's handler; a rank 0 blocked in CmiNodeBarrier deadlocks peers waiting for the broadcast

• IPC pool: bump allocator never reclaims space across bins, so a pool can stay exhausted and every send silently falls back

charmplusplus/reconverse#260 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Sep 29, 2026

• LCI receive packet pool exhaustion hangs the run with a 'Deadlock alert! no posted recvs' flood (Delta 8 nodes, Frontier 32 nodes)

• Intermittent SIGSEGV at exit: CmiFree of a released send buffer while free_device drains outstanding sends (2 nodes, ~0.5% of runs)

• CmiAbort during ConverseInit segfaults in its exit broadcast (partitions test, 1 process)

charmplusplus/reconverse#241 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Sep 17, 2026

• Broadcast fan-out: one message per process and nokeep sharing within a process; SPANTREE is off by default

• Same-host cross-process messages through the shared-memory pool: the third branch of the send path

• Consolidate startup collectives: a backend all-gather for topology, affinity report and IPC pid exchange

charmplusplus/reconverse#236 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Make reconverse independently consumable: install rules, exported CMake package, pkg-config

charmplusplus/reconverse#233 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Sep 14, 2026

• ConverseInit should own CPU affinity, topology and IPC initialization (today Charm++ and each standalone program must call them)

• Zero-copy API unusable with multiple LCI devices: CMK_NOCOPY_DIRECT_BYTES is compile-time but getRMR scales with +lci_ndevices

charmplusplus/reconverse#203 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Aug 14, 2026

• SPANTREE guards only the broadcasts; reductions always use the spanning tree

charmplusplus/reconverse#197 · Filter by author lvkale opened on Aug 2, 2026

• LCI IBV completion assert (wcs[i].status == IBV_WC_SUCCESS) under load at 960 PEs; surviving ranks hang instead of aborting
