LOFA simulations for MSRE configuration #358
|
In the LOFA simulation available within the problems/LOFA.....Initially the steady run is performed...For this case, how the inlet temperature to the reactor core is taken? The inlet velocity BC value is 21.7 cm/s but what is the inlet temperature BC value (inlet to the reactor core)? Also, the heat loss to the HX is considered at one point of the primary loop. Why is that considered in that way? How temperature at that point is evaluated (in sub.i file)? Thanks and regards, |

Hi @sachin-polyenergetics, LOFA input files appear to be outdated. We plan to update them soon. In the meantime, I recommend using the tests/coupled/auto_diff_rho.i MSRE model and combining it with one of the precursor modeling options in tests/pre. For these simple models, we opted to apply a 0D heat sink to simulate heat removal by the heat exchanger to focus on core modeling over out-of-core system modeling. |

Hello Park @smpark7 . Thanks a lot for your reply. I have gone through your thesis work on MSRE case zero power fuel pump start up and coast down transients (in chapter 3). Is any code repository available for this scenarios? It will be great if you can share something on that. Thanks and regards, |

Hi Sachin, I plan to add the files soon. It's part of a larger revamp plan we hope to implement over the next two months |
