title Tasks
description Taskboards with board, list and timeline views.

Tasks live on taskboards. A board has its own statuses, and every task gets an identifier like COL-42 that you can mention anywhere.

Tasks home

Tasks home shows your open tasks across every board, and a card for each board with a live preview of its columns and a progress ring. Search when a workspace has many boards. Boards open instantly and zoom back out to Tasks home, including with the browser's back and forward buttons.

Tasks

A task has a title, a description, a status, a priority (none, low, medium, high or urgent), assignees, labels, a due date and an estimate. Tasks can also have:

  • Comments and activity.
  • Relations: related, blocking, and duplicate links to other tasks.
  • Code: a linked Code session and the Change Request or pull request it produced.
  • Change Requests from Upstream that reference the task.

Every Upstream issue is a task too, so issues show up on boards and timelines without extra setup.

Creating tasks

  • Press + in any column, or use New task.
  • Create a task from a message, or accept Kairo's suggestion when a message asks you to do something. Kairo picks the board, status and priority, and marks what it chose until you change it.
  • Capture a task from Home or the new tab palette.
  • Ask Kairo to create, update or triage tasks.

Board settings

In a board's settings you can rename it and edit its statuses. Under Integrations, connect repositories so tasks move automatically when their Change Request or pull request merges.

API and MCP

Tasks are available through the REST API and the MCP server.
