Is anyone else building hackathon tools?
There is hackathon.io but they are like everyone else simply listing hackathons and posting challenges, but nothing featured on how to host a better hackathon or hackathon tools (and no GitHub).
Then there's angelhack.com and they actually have closer to the ideas of what we want to do with education, community managment, hackathon planning/marketing, but nothing they're doing is open-source. They are a for-profit company. For all the social links in their website's header, there is no link to a GitHub org. HackerLeague is another big one but again, no GitHub.
I found a long list of links under the search "hackathon tools". May of them simply listing APIs or coding libraries for hackers to use. Maybe the first tool to build would be an open-source tool that searches the web for hackathons and indexes them. A open-source hackathon search. May of these other sites list hackathons but none of them are open-source. I think this is a good foundational starting point.
- Another good thing to start off would be a @discourse to host these discussions with everyone from the hackosphere.
